My name is Yanhong Liu, and I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Counseling and Human Services at Syracuse University. I am conducting a research study which seeks to explore professional identity of international counseling professionals in the United States. This study has been granted IRB approval by Syracuse University (IRB# 21-390), and I am inviting you to consider participating in this research.
To participate in this study,you must be:
- an international master’s student (with an F1 visa) enrolled in a counselor education program, an international doctoral student (with an F1 visa) enrolled in a counselor education program, an international counseling practitioner holding a working visa or permanent residency,an international counselor educator holding a working visa or permanent residency.
- currently resides in the United States.
- 18 years of age or older.
If you agree to participate, you will be asked to complete a questionnaire consisting of five (5) brief surveys and several demographic questions. You will respond to most items following the Likert format. Completion of the entire questionnaire entails approximately 10-15 minutes; and the completion of this questionnaire will be the only request made of you.
Please note that you are under no obligation to participate in this study and you can choose to withdraw your consent to participate at any time. You will not be required to do anything in order to withdraw from the study, other than closing out of the survey. Participation in this study poses no risks greater than those encountered in your day-to-day life.
