Internship Description :
Internship consists of providing behavioral health services in a pediatric primary care clinic, and a traditional outpatient mental health clinic (with possible opportunities to work in other child/adolescent settings as they become available). Intern will provide therapy, physician consultation, and brief psychoeducational patient intervention. Experience in evaluations for developmental disabilities is available as well. Clinical supervision is scaffolded based on the student’s previous experience and skill, such that students with limited experience in child therapy or integrated care are provided intense support.
The internship is sponsored by the Munroe Meyer Institute (MMI; University of Nebraska Medical Center), through a BHWET grant. The grant’s purpose is to build a behavioral health workforce with experience in primary care. Didactic training in integrated care is provided remotely from MMI.
