Dear Counselors-in-Training,

My name is Lynsay Paiko and I am a doctoral candidate in the Counseling Psychology program at SUNY Albany. I am writing to invite you to participate in my dissertation study, supervised by Alex Pieterse, Ph.D., about racial attitudes and advocacy.  We’ll use the information to further research in the counseling field in this area.

You are eligible to participate in this research study if you meet the following requirements:

  1. You are over 18 years of age.
  2. You are a domestic student in the United States.
  3. You are in an appliedMaster’s or doctoral applied clinical/counseling program(i.e., program with supervised counseling practicum experience) including: Mental Health Counseling, Counselor Educator, Counseling Psychology, or Clinical Psychology.

The study should take approximately 25 minutes to complete.  Participants will be asked to answer a series of questionnaires pertaining to racial attitudes.  Remember, participation is completely voluntary.  You can choose to be in the study or not.  If you complete the study, you will have the option to be entered into a random drawing for one of eight $25 Visa e-gift cards.

If you’d like to participate, please follow this link:https://albany.az1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_3q6iabH3bjymiGN

If you have any questions about the study, please contact me via email (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) or contact Dr. Pieterse (email: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.).

Research at the University Albany, involving human participants, is carried out under the oversight of the Institutional Review Board (IRB). This research has been reviewed and approved by the IRB (IRB #:20X214). Thank you very much.

Sincerely,

Lynsay Paiko, M.A.
