VCU Career Services in Richmond, VA is hiring for a full-time Career Advisor focusing on Science, Technology, Environment, Math, and Health (STEM-H) opportunities and pathways. This role will directly advise students, liaise with academic departments, give presentations, design programs, and have the option to teach a for-credit career development course.
This is a Master's level position, ideal for someone who has held a career or academic advising role on a college campus (including graduate assistantships or internships), and/or someone who has worked closely with college students and new professionals in a corporate, government, or nonprofit setting as a recruiter, trainer, or supervisor. Our deadline to apply is January 5th, with a potential start date in mid-to-late Spring 2020. We are willing to be flexible with our timeline for the right person, including candidates who may be finishing their Master's degree in a relevant field this May. This advisor will report to Megan Hollis, Associate Director for Health Sciences Career Advising.
