NCCU does not independently make residency determinations.  Student needs to get their residency verified, which is an application process with the Residency Determination Service, or RDS, at this link: https://ncresidency.cfnc.org/residency/#/RESlogin

Once a student goes through the process, RDS will decide whether it's counted for in-state or out-of-state. They will issue a number tied to a student's residency status, which the student will share with the Graduate Admissions team at This email address is being protected from spambots. Though we do keep RNC number with student's Banner information throughout their journey at NCCU, students still need to renew their information with the Residency Determination Service every 18 months to maintain in-state status.
