The Carolina Center for Emotional Focus Therapy is offering an opportunity to local Historically Black Colleges and University Counseling and Social Work programs at Fayetteville State University, NC A&T University, Winston Salem State University, and NC Central University to participate in the Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT) training. This training prepares clinicians to promote emotional fitness in clients with robust experiences and preparation to face existential dilemmas. The proposed date for this one-day training is Friday, February 19,2021. The training typically is from 9:30 am- 4:30 pm each day (6 training hours) with an hour of a networking lunch. The Center would provide the training on the Zoom platform, therefore a secure internet connection is required. A professional reading would be provided in advance to prepare for training.
The EFIT training is typically $450, however for this initiative, the training would be offered at a fraction of the regular cost and an equity rate of $50 would be offered. Faculty would be permitted to participate in the training as well, however, the priority is for students of color. Students in their last term or in the internship portion of their program would be best suited for this training.
