Clinical Mental Health Counseling student, N'Dea Coleman, has been awarded a $15,000 Addictions Counseling Fellowship from the National Board for Certified Counselors Foundation.  Congratulations, N'Dea!

Ninety fellows were selected from over 450 applicants to represent three cohorts of fellows: master’s-level mental health counseling, doctoral-level mental health counseling, and master's-level addictions counseling.   

As an NBCC Minority Fellowship Program - Addcitions Counseling (MFP-AC) Fellow, Coleman will receive funding and training to support her education and facilitate her addictions counseling service to underserved populations.

The NBCC MFP-AC is made possible by a grant awarded to the NBCC Foundation in collaboration with the Association for Addiction Professionals (NAADAC) by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). The NBCC Foundation administers the MFP-AC, including training and collaboration activities, such as webinars, that are open to all board certified counselors. 

The goals of the program are to strengthen the infrastructure that engages diverse individuals in counseling and increase the number of professional counselors providing effective, culturally competent services to underserved and never-served populations. Each fellow receives funds to support their education as well as training, mentorship, and professional development services.
