Here are some things to keep in mind as you begin to prepare for the CPCE (the comprehensvie exam):

• Develop a sound, realistic, and methodical study plan.  For example, think about how much time you have before you are set to take the CPCE (start early in developing your plan (~8 months in advance).  Divide this time by the number of sections you will be tested on in the exam (hint: there are eight sections).  Plan to devote one month of study time per section (8 sections = 8 months).  Start with the harder sections first, so that you can devote more time to them, if needed.  You may not need or want as much time on the sections in which you feel fairly confident.  
• Use the AATBS materials that have been required for a number of your courses while in the Program. Utilize their coaching service as well as their practice tests (you've already paid for these resources).
• You are strongly encouraged to use the study/prep sessions that are offered by the Program 1-2 times per year.
Please remember the importance of the field and this test (and your future licensure tests).  You MUST pass the comprehensive exam in order to graduate.   In order to work as a professional counselor, you'll need to pass the appropriate licensure test(s) to become licensed.  Once in the field, you may find yourself in life or death situations.  You will need to be prepared for challenging clients and situations.
• Make sure to study - LEARN AS MUCH AS YOU CAN while you are in the Program.
