Marymount University is Accepting Applications for the Fall 2014 Ed.D. Cohort in Counselor Education and Supervision

 

Marymount University's Department of Counseling faculty is welcoming  applications for the Ed.D. Counselor Education and Supervision (CES)  program Fall 2014 cohort. Marymount University's program, located in  Arlington Virginia and minutes from Washington D.C., prepares counselors  by offering exceptional clinical and supervision training, outstanding  experiential teaching training with practical pedagogical applications,  and rigorous research and program evaluation training. Given its  proximity to Washington, D.C., doctoral students have unparalleled  access to numerous community resources and unique clinical and  supervisory experiences with diverse clinical populations.

About our Faculty

 

The Counselor Education faculty are known for their extensive  clinical and supervision training. With over 250 years of combined  clinical and counselor education experience, faculty are well positioned  to offer comprehensive clinical training. Further, most faculty  maintain successful clinical practices. Faculty have a distinguished  record of teaching, scholarship, and service and are extensively  involved in leadership positions at various state, regional, and  national counseling boards and associations. About our Students

 

Faculty are actively engaged in mentoring student scholarship  activities as well as encouraging student collaboration in faculty  research. In only the second year of the program, our students have  developed and presented research interests in areas such as creativity  in supervision, spirituality and midlife issues, spiritual and religious  issues with deployed military, mental health issues and deployed  military, counselor professional identity, personal growth and  resiliency in the military, burnout/self-care, and mentoring at over 25  international, national, regional, and state conferences. In 2014,  several of our students won 3rd place in the American Counseling  Association Ethics Essay Competition. Students are also involved in  various leadership and service positions including VACES Student  Representative and EB-ACA Student Representative.
