Counseling Fellowships - Please Apply


The NBCC Foundation is pleased to announce the application period for the 2024 National Board for Certified Counselors Minority Fellowship Program (NBCC MFP).

Up to 95 doctoral- and master’s-level counseling fellowships are available for current counseling students.

Fellowship award amounts range from $12,000 to $22,000 and include fellowships in the following categories:

  • Up to 20 doctoral fellowships for counselor education and supervision students
  • Up to 32 master's fellowships for mental health counseling students
  • Up to 43 master's fellowships for addictions counseling students

The MFP is made possible by a grant from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) and is administered by the NBCC Foundation. The MFP for addictions counseling fellowships are administered by the NBCC Foundation in collaboration with NAADAC, the Association for Addiction Professionals.

Fall 2024

  • MOA for the Spring 2025 Semester is due by:  Friday, November 15, 2024
  • Special request deadline due by: Monday, October 14, 2024
  • Field Service Committee will meet: Thursday, October 17, 2024
  • Students notified by: Monday, October 21, 2024

Spring 2025

  • Site Supervisor’s Orientation Spring 2025: Friday, January 24, 2025 @ 3 p.m. via Web-Ex
  • Summer 2025 MOA deadline date: Friday, April 11, 2025
  • Special request deadline date: Monday, March 10, 2025
  • Field Service Committee will meet: Thursday, March 13, 2025
  • Students notified by: Monday, March 17, 2025

Summer 2025

  • Fall 2025 MOA deadline date: Friday, July 11, 2025
  • Special request deadline date: Monday, June 9, 2025
  • Field Service Committee will meet: Thursday, June 12, 2025
  • Students will be notified by: Monday, June 16, 2025

 



Present a Poster Session at the NC School Counselor Conference


The NC School Counselor Association (NCSCA) 2024 Graduate Student Poster Session is scheduled during the annual conference on Thursday, November 7, 2024.  
 
The deadline for poster proposal submission is Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at 11:59pm. Students will receive notice of an acceptance decision by e-mail by Friday, September 20, 2024.

All first presenters will receive a free registration for the Thursday, November 7th portion of the conference.


 

LCCNC Graduate Student Memberships


We are excited to extend an invitation for your graduate students and recent graduates to join Licensed Clinical Counselors of North Carolina (LCCNC). Starting this fall, LCCNC is pleased to offer FREE student memberships, making it easier than ever for students to become part of our professional community.

  • September 3: First day for graduate students to withdraw from a class with a WC grade
  • September 10: School of Education faculty meeting
  • September 20: Last day to withdraw from the university with a prorated tuition and fee adjustment; last day for students to apply for fall graduation
  • September 30: Deadline to apply for NBCC Foundation Fellowship
  • October 9-10: Group Counseling residency
  • October 14: Deadline to make a special request for spring practicum or internship
  • November 15: MOA for a spring practicum or internship due
