Join Chi Sigma Iota - Counseling Honor Society
Do you have a GPA of 3.5 or above? Have you completed at least nine (9) credit hours in your program? Do you desire to serve your program, profession, and community? Then why not consider becoming a member of Nu Chi Chi, NCCU's Chapter of Chi Sigma Iota (CSI)? CSI is the International Honors Society that promotes excellence in counseling. In addition to being recognized for academic and professional excellence, members of Nu Chi Chi and CSI receive numerous benefits, including:
- Invitations to regular, hour-long webinars and continuing education opportunities.
- A subscription to CSI's Exemplar magazine – published three (3) times each year.
- Access to the Journal of Counselor Leadership & Advocacy.
- Leadership training and networking opportunities.
- Ability to obtain various awards and scholarships specifically for CSI members.
- Opportunities for community-building and to participate in events throughout the year.
- Wearing a CSI special honors cord at graduation.
If you have completed at least nine credit hours while maintaining a GPA of at least 3.5 – you can follow the process below to join our Chapter:

Please attach a letter that includes (a) your current GPA, (b) the number of hours you have completed in the program (excluding hours currently enrolled), and (c) a brief statement explaining why you'd like to become a member of Nu Chi Chi. We will be taking applications up until February 11th in preparation for our new member induction on April 10th.
- After you have emailed your letter of interest, we will send a follow up email about next steps. Additionally, it is never too early to start getting involved in CSI sponsored events which happen throughout the year for our whole counselor education community whereallstudents are invited, welcome, and encouraged to attend!

Do you plan to graduate in May? Deadline to apply is Friday!
Make sure that you submit your application for graduation by Friday, February 13th. You must communicate with your advisor regarding your plans. The information below is also found in the "forms" area on the Program website.

Self-Service Graduation Application
- Log in to Banner 9 through myEOL.
- Select Student Self-Service.
- Click on Student Profile.
- Scroll down and click Apply to Graduate (located on the lower left side of the screen).
- Choose your Graduation Term.
- Confirm your Curriculum.
Important: If your program is incorrect, do not proceed. You must first submit a Declaration or Change of Major, Minor, or Concentration Form to update your program.- If you are pursuing a double major or dual degree, you must complete two separate graduation applications.
- Select your Graduation Date.
- Indicate whether you will attend the graduation ceremony.
- Choose the name to be printed on your diploma (select your current name in Banner or enter a new one).
- Select your mailing address.
- Review all entered information for accuracy.
- Click Submit to complete your application.
Note: You may not make changes to the application once it has been submitted.

Residencies - Spring Semester, 2026
CON 5351: Group Counseling
For those students taking CON 5351 in the spring semester, you will have a required residency on April 15-16.
CON 5371: Pre-Practicum Counseling Skills
For those students taking CON 5371 in the spring, you will have a required residency either March 24-25 or March 26-27. Specific dates are found below.
