The TRIO SSS-TEACH Success Coordinator (Graduate Student Stipend) for the TRIO Teacher Preparation Program (SSS-TEACH) provides part-time support for the academic, personal, and professional development of program participants. The Success Coordinator plays a key role in helping students persist through academic pathways by offering individualized counseling, academic advising, and student-centered programming. This position also contributes to the planning and delivery of graduate school and career readiness workshops, monitors student progress, and supports program assessment through the compilation of student data and outcome reports.
The Success Coordinator will work approximately 20 hours per week and is expected to maintain a flexible and student-focused schedule aligned with academic calendars and program needs.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Academic & Personal Counseling (40%)
- Provide individualized academic advising and guidance to SSS-TEACH participants.
- Assist students in selecting appropriate coursework and developing academic success plans.
- Counsel students on personal development, time management, and balancing academic demands.
- Refer students to campus support services such as tutoring, counseling, financial aid, and accessibility services.
- Maintain regular communication with caseload participants and document counseling notes using university-approved systems.
Career & Graduate School Support (20%)
- Coordinate and/or facilitate workshops focused on career exploration, graduate school preparation, internship opportunities, and personal development.
- Collaborate with Career Services and university faculty to connect students with job shadowing, research, or experiential learning opportunities.
- Assist students with building resumes, preparing graduate applications, and connecting with potential mentors.
Program Data, Assessment & Evaluation (20%)
- Track and monitor student progress using Blumen and/or institutional systems.
- Compile and analyze data on student outcomes, services utilized, and retention/graduation indicators.
- Assist with the development of monthly and semester reports that contribute to the Annual Performance Report (APR) and ongoing program evaluation.
- Provide timely feedback to the Program Directors regarding participant trends, needs, and recommendations for improving service delivery.
Workshop Coordination & Program Support (15%)
- Assist in planning, marketing, and executing academic support workshops, enrichment activities, and non-cognitive skills development programming.
- Ensure that event logistics, materials, and attendance tracking are in place.
- Support the implementation of culturally responsive and equity-minded programming for education students.
Other Duties (5%)
- Attend team meetings, training sessions, and student events as needed.
- Represent the program at university outreach events and recruitment efforts.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Directors to support the holistic development of participants.
Salary:$750 monthly stipend
