The Licensed Clinical Counselors of North Carolina (LCCNC) is pleased to announce that we are now accepting applications for the 2026 Nancy Howell Scholarship Award.

This scholarship recognizes three graduate students who demonstrate strong leadership as counseling students and show exceptional potential as future LCMHCs. Recipients will each receive a $500 monetary honorarium and have the opportunity to collaborate with the LCCNC Board of Directors on advocacy projects across the state of North Carolina.

Application Deadline:Sunday, September 13, 2025

Eligibility:

  • Must be a current LCCNC student member (non-members may join to apply)
  • Must be enrolled in a CACREP-accredited counseling program

Application Requirements:

  • Verification letter of enrollment
  • Two letters of recommendation
  • Resume/CV
  • Description of leadership experience (100 words max)
  • Statement of professional goals (300 words max)
  • Additional documents and demographic information as applicable

To access your application as a student member, visit www.lccnc.org and log in. Then go to:Membership > Members Only > Engagement > Forms > LCCNC 2026 Nancy Howell Scholarship Applicationand complete the form.

Recipients will be notified on September 24, 2026, and the Nancy Howell Scholarship recipients and LCCNC Award recipients will be recognized and presented with their awards at the upcoming 2026 LCCNC Annual Conference.
