COUNSELOR EDUCATION PROGRAM -- North Carolina Central University

Greetings,

My name is Terrijann Müllerdahlberg and I am a doctoral candidate in the Counselor Education and Supervision program at North Dakota State University (NDSU). I am conducting a dissertation study titledThe relationship between attachment styles, adverse childhood experiences, and generalized anxiety symptomology among counselors-in-training: A quantitative study for my dissertation, IRB0005033. My research explores patterns in close relationships, adverse childhood experiences, and generalized anxiety.

To participate in this study:

a) you must be 18 years or older

b) currently enrolled in a master or doctoral counselor education or clinical mental health graduate program

If you choose to participate in the study, you will be asked to complete a quantitative survey through Qualtrics. The survey will take approximately 15-to-20 minutes. First, you will review the informed consent and decide to participate or not in the study. Second, is a demographic form. Last, you will be asked to respond to a brief set of questionnaires about attachment styles, adverse childhood experiences, and generalized anxiety.Everything will be completed electronically, from your cell phone or computer, via Qualtrics.

There is minimal risk to participating in this study; no more risk than would be involved in general reflection on your general attitude about yourself and others. The benefit associated with this research include adding new data that may directly impact and may help improve Counselor Education and clinical mental health training and clinical practice.

There is no compensation for your participation. You have the right to withdraw from the study, at any time, and your answers will not be saved. If you have any questions about your rights as a participant or have any complaints about this research, you can contact me or contact the NDSU Human Research Protection Program at 701-231-8995, toll-free at 1-855-800-6717, by e-mail at This email address is being protected from spambots.
